Police confirm arresting Bobi Wine for attacking president's motorcade

Police have confirmed arresting musician-cum-politician Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi, popularly known as, Bobi Wine.

The authorities, in a statement issued by police spokesperson Emilian Kayima, say Bobi Wine and other people, including Members of Parliament, are being held in custody to help in the ongoing investigations.

Earlier, Bobi Wine's photographer stated that he was arrested by "6 police officers and scores of SFC men in uniform and others in pain cloths".

Bobi Wine and other MPs were arrested after "obstructing and violently attacking the presidential motorcade" in Arua, according to a police statement.

One of the president's cars was smashed and police used tear gas and live bullets to "halt further escalation" of the attack.
