Police have arrested a man for allegedly butchering his wife in Nairobi’s Embakasi area.

Witnesses who spoke to the media confirmed that the bizarre incident happened on over the weekend and the mutilated body of the deceased was yet to be taken to the mortuary by noon.

There was heavy police presence at the scene of the crime with the public milling around to catch a glimpse of the unfolding events.

It is not clear what may have driven the suspect to end the life of his spouse.

Pulselive Kenya could not independently verify the identity of the suspect who has since been taken to Embakasi Police Station with investigations launched into the incident.

Concern has been raised in recent days over the rising number of women killed by their spouses with relevant institutions urged to intervene.
