New twist in Jubilee Party wrangles as plans to register two rival parties launched [video]

The wrangles within the ruling Jubilee party have taken a new twist with plans underway to register new political outfits.

A section of disgruntled Jubilee party politicians unhappy with the current rift within the Jubilee party pitting DP Ruto’s Tanga tanga wing against the Kieleweke team backing the handshake have kicked in motion plans to revive the now defunct The National Alliance Party.

The politicians largely drawn from Mount Kenya region and who feel that the region lost its bargaining power following the dissolution of TNA have written to the Registrar of Political parties to reserve the name Transformation National Alliance party(TNA).

Commenting on the plans to register the new political outfit, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria welcomed the move, stating that it is legitimate and reasonable.

“I don’t see anything wrong with that. It is legitimate and right and reasonable to take stock of where we are and if people perceive that Jubilee is not that house within which they can be able to take stock, then that’s OK.” Kuria stated.

Reports indicate that the party could be registered by latest July this year with several officials fronted for various officials for the party.

Meanwhile, reports have also surfaced of plans to register DP Ruto’s former United Republican Party (URP) as a fall-backplan for DP Ruto’s team Tangatanga should the Jubilee party crumble.

The push is championed by DP Ruto's allies who feel that life in Jubilee is unbearable amidst concerns that Mr. Ruto may not get the Jubilee party ticket to run for the presidency in 2022.

The two political outfits are meant to provide a safe have for those who feel orphaned following the dissolution of URP and TNA to form Jubilee.
