Four people, including a born-again pastor, have been arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder of a 19-year-old student, Brinah Nalule.
Authorities have identified the detained born again pastor as Ronald Wambuzi from Buikwe District.
Ms. Nalule was kidnap and killed by suspected taxi operators on Sunday after her family failed to raise UGX10m ransom.
She was raped before being suffocated and strangled to death, according to preliminary medical examinations.
Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire revealed that the pastor was the last person who was seen with the 19-year-old girl.
Mr. Wambuzi and Ms. Nalule were staying together for two days before the kidnap, the girl's father told police.
However, he denied any connivance in the kidnap and murder saying the kidnappers, who were using the girl's phone to make demands, called him and informed the girl's parents.
Her body was discovered in Kibaawo Zone, Mutundwe in Lubaga Division, Kampala. -- with tongue and private parts missing.
