Speaking when she appeared before the Departmental Committee on Education, the CS said that her son asked for money to buy leaked KCSE exam papers after a teacher asked them to get the cash.

CS Mohamed stated that she told her son she did not have the money and stood her ground.

“My son was in form four three years ago, he came to me asking for money saying a teacher in his school had asked for the cash. According to the teacher the money was to be used for buying the students leaked KCSE papers. I told my son that I did not have the money and I was going to work for it. He insisted the money was needed urgently but I stood my ground,” she said.

Lower grade

Amina Mohammed added that her son managed to score a B+ (Plus) but blamed her for not scoring an A (Plain) like other students in his school.

The Education CS had appeared before the National Assembly Education Committee to explain the recent student unrest that has seen 63 schools closed indefinitely.
