Mbabazi served in Museveni's government as the 9th Prime Minister of Uganda from 24 May 2011 to 19 September 2014.

The two have not been seeing eye-to-eye ever since Mbabazi announced his bid for the presidency in 2015 - forming his own political party to rival the ruling government.

Museveni will join South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa at an event where his son, Andile Ramaphosa, is officially taking Mbabazi's niece, Bridget Rwakairu.

On Saturday, Mbabazi and his former boss will dine together at his home in Kololo where the kuhingira ceremony will take place.

President Museveni and his wife Janet Museveni welcomed the South African president and his wife on Friday at State House Entebbe.
