Museveni’s address comes on the heels of apparent renewed attacks by suspected suicide bombers from the ADF terrorist group.

Since last Sunday, security forces have foiled bomb attacks, one at Rubaga Miracle Center and another at a local accommodation facility in Rubaga Division.

As of yesterday, the Police said they had recovered and detonated a total of six Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from different locations.

The security forces have also warned the Opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) and its President Bobi Wine, who is currently embarking on a national tour, that his big rallies might be a target for the attacks.

The security forces on the other hand have vehemently denied claims that these bomb attacks are being staged to stop Bobi Wine’s tour rallies.

I don’t mind the party you support. That’s none of my business because you have a right to support a party you want. My business is to make sure political leaders and their people are safe,” said UPDF Spokesman Brig Felix Kulayigye on NBS Television last night.

Bobi Wine has held rallies in Western Uganda and is currently in the Eastern Region where his processions have grown bigger by the day.

It remains to be seen what the President will say about the opposition leader’s rallies.

In an interview yesterday, Tuesday, Bobi Wine said his rallies had not been stopped so far because of the recent documentary that he put out exposing the horrors of the 2021 elections.

In the past election, we had a documentary where we recorded all the evidence on camera and we took it to the world,” he said.

The film is now showing in cinemas across the US and Europe and will be on Netflix starting next month.

We also took this evidence to the International Criminal Court (ICC) and now Museveni can really feel the ICC rope around his neck.

We believe this is the reason… because he is not stupid, that is why you see he is behaving the way he is.”

Bobi Wine, however, added that he was not sure the security forces would allow him to complete his national tour without disruption.
