The 73-year-old president revealed in a statement that Kassiano Wadri, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) and others, pelted stones damaging one of his vehicles.

Museveni states that the stones "broke the rear glass window of the car where we transport luggage".

"There was no harm on the old man with a hat," part of the statement reads.

Bulletproof controversy

Social media has been musing how an armoured presidential vehicle can be damaged by just stones.

The leader of the 3rd largest East African nation has sparked light on the bulletproof controversy saying the window glass is not armoured.

No reaction

Museveni says his security personnel didn't react when one of the convoy vehicles was pelted with stones because "we were not equipped for anti-riots".

He adds that "our intervention could have resulted into people's death because we only had live bullets".
