Muntu explains why he desires to become president
After announcing his exit from the biggest opposition political party in Uganda to announcing a new political party, Mugisha Muntu is on his marks for the presidency.
While appearing on a television show on Thursday night, the former FDC president revealed his desires of becoming Uganda's president.
The 59-year-old former army chief told NTV Uganda that all the moves he is making are aimed at becoming a head of state of the East African nation which has had one president since 1986.
Muntu said: "There are complications. There is a desire to become the President but getting there can be a problem. I have the desire, that is why I am doing what I am doing".

Coalition
Muntu shed light on reports that he is planning to form a coalition with the popular musician-turned-opposition MP Bobi Wine.
"We are making a coalition. We are in touch with Bobi Wine and others like Basalirwa. We will meet and work out plans to make out a cooperation and move forward," Muntu said.
He added: "One thing Museveni knows is psychological warfare. We can take him on but that cannot happen if we are fighting among ourselves".
What does Bobi Wine say?
Kyaddondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine says he is ready to work with Mugisha Muntu and unite as one opposition force.
"Our ultimate goal is to unite the opposition and make sure that we come together and look at the ultimate goal of liberating the country."
Wine has strongly opposed and criticised Museveni's government and is leading the "People Power" movement that is collectively bringing Ugandans together to demand for change.
The 36-year-old was brutally arrested August after he allegedly pelted stones to the presidential motorcade in the northern town of Arua.
He says he was tortured by Ugandan soldiers during his two week of detention at a military faclity.
Kyagulanyi returned in the country early September from the US after receiving treatment for the injuries he says he sustained in detention.
The lawmaker and other 33 people face charges of treason.
