Kyadondo East MP Robert Sentamus (Bobi Wine) driver, Kawuma Yasin, has been killed after chaos erupted in Arua Municipality on the last day of by-election campaigns.

The incident happened after Kasiano Wadri supporters clashed with NRM candidate supporters.

Police used tear gas and live bullets to disperse the rioters and a stray bullet killed Bobi Wine's driver. Bobi Wine is in Arua to campaign and offer his support to Wadiri.

The legislator posted a graphic image of his dead driver on Twitter saying: "Police has shot my driver dead thinking they’ve shot at me. My hotel is now cordoned off by police and SFC"

President Museveni's car smashed

Senior Press Secretary to the president says Kaguta Museveni's car was smashed by opposition supporters in Arua town.

It's believed that it's this incident that prompted SFC, the president's special security force, to fire live bullets.

Police

Uganda police haven't issued any statement after the deadly clashes in Arua town.
