The media fraternity in Kenya is mourning the death veteran TV reporter Lilian Otieno.

Lilian who worked as a reporter for Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) died on Friday after a short illness.

According to KBC, the Kisumu based reporter was admitted to Victoria Hospital in Kisumu on Monday after she complained of a severe headache and tests ran by doctors indicated that she had malaria.

The report further said that doctors had recommended that she goes for other tests to establish whether the headache was being caused by meningitis.

On Wednesday however, Lilian’s health worsened and she fell unconscious and doctors’ efforts to resuscitate her were fruitless.

Lilian Otieno has been working with the state broadcaster as a reporter for the past seven years and leaves behind a husband and five children.
