Former Gulu Municipality legislator Christopher Acire is nursing severe injuries after a mower almost cut his arm off for allegedly underpaying him.
He reportedly hired a man only identified as Anywar to mow his compound, according to Daily Monitor.
Anywar is believed to have been paid only UGX60,000 of the agreed UGX80,000 upon completion of the work.
"Mr Acire had promised to pay the casual labourer Shs80,000 for mowing the compound but upon completion, he was only paid Shs60,000," Acire's neighbour said.
He demanded his balance for two days before harming the former legislator with a mowing machine.
She adds that: “On a fateful evening, I was seated on my veranda...saw the man fuelling his mowing machine outside Acire's building. He later entered the building but shortly, I heard people screaming and running outside the gate”.
The mower is on the run and Aswa River Region police have started investigating the incident.
