Man-eating crocodile kills a 26-year-old who had gone fishing

A 26-year-old man has been killed by a crocodile in Mayuge District in Eastern Uganda.

Reports indicate that the unfortunate incident happened near the Bute-Kapaluko landing site in Bukatube sub-county.

The deceased, who was only identified as King, was fishing when the alligator snatched him from the boat.

Locals raised an alarm after part of his body was seen floating on the lake.

The area's local leader has appealed to the government to intervene and reduce deaths caused by crocodiles.

Three years ago, at least 10 people were reportedly eaten by crocodiles at Gooli landing site on the island of Jaguzi in Mayuge district.
