Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) President Patrick Amuriat Oboi speaks out for the first time on the recent controversial reshuffles he made for opposition Parliamentary leadership.
He also made other changes, notably replacing Abdul Katuntu with Mubraka Munyagwa as chairperson COSASE.
In a televised interview with NBS TV, Amuriat revealed why he made the changes, which he says he is proud of and will move the party's political agenda forward.
Inevitable.
FDC president said changes in the opposition Parliament cabinet happen and they are inevitable. He maintains that opportunity should be given to as many people as possible.
"If the positions are held by just a particular people, how do we measure the strengthens and capabilities for the rest of the people in the party?" he said.
Equal participation
Oboi revealed that people should understand that MPs should be given equal platforms of participation. He says if MPs qualify to be in Parliament, they also qualify to be in Parliamentary committees.
Confidence
The FDC leader is confident that the new team in Parliament will push the party political agenda forward and is proud of his decisions. He told NBS TV that "we shall weather the storm".
Loyalty
The recent reshuffles were a result of many factors, including loyalty, financial contribution and other underground details, according to FDC President Amuriat Oboi.
