The singer revealed to Crystal Newman in a length interview about what she exactly feels about what happened in 2015 when photos of her battered face surfaced online.

By then, Kayondo was dating socialite and businessman SK Mbuga -- who is currently jailed in Dubai over allegations of money laundering.

She said she was a victim of domestic violence but "she is not angry about it anymore". She thought people in love "fight and that's life...but you have to sit down and solve things".

The singer reveals that what hurts her is "people made it feel like these things don't happen in their lives".

"Being a celebrity, people are not going to understand. They are gonna judge you. I'm not the only person whom this thing has happened to," Kayondo said.

The singer added that: "People have faced the same situation but probably their situations are solved privately and mine is in public".

She hopes that people become aware of domestic violence and urges fellow women who are victims to speak up.
