Jose Chameleone has become the first musician to write an open letter to President Kaguta Museveni begging him to release detained fellow musician Bobi Wine, who is also Kyadondo East MP.
Chameleone took to Facebook saying "Kyagulanyi has always collaborated with me and all of us society to free Uganda from foreign sounds and sell our culture beyond borders through our capital ability, music".
The father of five maintained that Bobi Wine"has over time exhibited his leadership admiration" and "trodden a path of aggressiveness".
"Your Excellency,Our brother, Your son Bobi Wine could have gone wrong on the execution of some of his ideologies. That’s a challenge," he wrote.
Forgiveness
Jose Chameleone writes that a head of state should lead as an example of "forgiveness and reconciliation", especially in such chaotic situations.
He continues that: "With all honour beg you the President to symbolise forgiveness in such a time. We can all wrong but better the forgiver".
Bobi Wine is expected to appear in a Court Martial in Gulu on Thursday after police allegedly found 2 guns in his hotel room in Arua.
The legislator was arrested on Monday together with his other colleagues when opposition and ruling party supporters clashed in Arua.
