Jolly Kaguhangire has issued a tough statement in response to her interdiction as Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) Executive Director (ED).
Her response comes a day after UIA board resolved to kick her out of office for a period of 3 months effective 26th, June 2018.
Kaguhangire says the board's resolution is "invalid, ultra vires, illegal and incurably void ab intio". She adds that the board didn't have the required quorum of 8 members and the issues "in respect of the ED were not part of the items of the agenda as adopted".
"The notice of the Board meeting should be given to the members not less than a period of 7 days which was not the case for this meeting," her statement reads.
She maintains that allegations made against her are "unfounded and totally baseless" -- and that she is prepared to answer all of them "satisfactorily in an unbiased forum".
"This letter serves to inform you that I'm still in office as the UIA Executive Director carrying out my duties and the mandate of the authority," the conclusion of her statement reads.
On Tuesday, the board resolved to interdict her on several grounds, including abuse of office, insubordination, misleading and lying to the board, among others.
The authority's board appointed a select committee to investigate the grounds on which Kaguhangire was kicked out-of-office.
