Joho also disclosed that just like President Uhuru Kenyatta, he is ready to lose friends, warning that the war on impunity started by his administration will spare no one.

The governor made the remarks barely a few hours before the start of demolitions in the Coastal city.

More than 2000 illegal structures and buildings are targeted in the demolition exercise that is set to begin this weekend after the notice expired.

On Friday, County Secretary Francis Thoya confirmed that the exercise will begin as scheduled and preparations were in top gear to bring down the structures constructed on wetlands and waterways.

Joho who is serving his second and final term at the helm of the county will be seeking to leave behind a solid legacy of development and order that could also serve as a Launchpad to his 2022 presidential ambitions.

He has embarked on ambitious plan to restore the city to its former glory of the beautiful tourist city it was.
