Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) Executive Director Jolly Kaguhangire has been asked to leave office amid corruption and nepotism allegations.

UIA board issued an interdiction letter to Kaguhangire on Tuesday, according to Chimp Reports.
The board chairperson revealed that the authority's ED has been asked to step aside for three months to allow for smooth investigations.

Basil Ajer, a director in charge of SMEs, will be the acting executive director of the authority during the investigation process.

This comes barely a day after she was petitioned to the Inspector General of Government (IGG) over abuse of office, possession of firearms by some workers and corruption, among others.
She was appointed the authority's head in 2017, replacing Eng. Dr. Frank Sebbowa.
