Police in Ugandas capital, Kampala, have arrested seven activists during protests against the increased kidnap and murder of women in the country.

A group of activists on Tuesday camped outside police headquarters in Naguru seeking to meet the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Okoth Ochola Martins.
They were demanding for investigation and a report into the over 40 kidnaps and 8 murders of women in a space of three months.
The group's efforts were restrained by security personnel, including Counter terrorism and anti-riot officers, outside the police headquarters.

The activists were holding placards and wearing "Women Lives Matter" and "Police, Protect Women" t-shirts to signal cause of their protests
IGP Ochola on Monday said he is willing to be meet the women activists to discuss their grievances and had "tasked my PA to arrange for another date".
