'I was upset when my daughter dropped out of school,' says Makula’s mum
Makula was awarded a Bachelor's degree in journalism at Cavendish University’s 12th graduation. Thereafter, she and her husband hosted scores of guests at their country home in Namayumba.
The guests included Makula’s mother Mrs. Idah Kisembo Adyeeri, who spoke elatedly about her daughter.
Kisembo, a Mutooro woman who now lives in Kyebando, told the guests that she was grateful to God for finally enabling her daughter to complete her studies.
She said she had long been disappointed because Makula dropped out of university.
“Susan studied and got to Makerere University; I was the one paying her fees because her dad had just died,” she recounted.
“I told her to go and put in the effort to finish her studies and I promised to sacrifice everything to pay the fees.
“But when she got there, she dropped out during her third year, and I was very upset with her.
“I was a doctor and I wanted her to get a degree and become a doctor as well. But I am very happy now to see that my baby, what I wanted for her she’s finally got it.”
Kisembo at the colourful event also took time to thank Makula’s husband Pastor Bugingo for the support he has extended to her and the care he’s giving to Makula.
The big dinner party was attended by a host of fellow graduates, family, friends, and associates including Pastor Simeon Kayiwa, Frank Gashumba, among others.
