Ministry of Education and Sports has reacted on the suspension of 23 students from Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) over sex acts urging them to seek redress in court.
23 students were suspended by IUIU authorities after the disciplinary committee found them guilty of violating university laws on "coupling and having sex on campus".
Ministry of Education undersecretary Aggrey Kibenge said the ministry doesn't intervene with the internal regulations on the university urging "aggrieved students to contest in the courts of laws".
He says who were found guilty of violating university laws "signed to observe the guidelines" during admission.
Mr. Kibenge also advised students to consult the National Council of Higher Education since the ministry only guides on policy matters.
The university authorities will make a final decision on the suspended students on Thursday 26th April when the Executive Board sits to hear appeals made by students.
