Government issues important statement after appointment of a dead person

Government has issued a statement urging Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Deputy RDCs to stay at their work stations despite of recent reshuffles.

The announcement was made by Minister in Charge of the Presidency Esther Mbayo on Sunday, a barely a week after the head of state revised the appointments.

The minister said "there has been tension and panic among the RDC fraternity" after it was revealed that one the appointed officials is deceased.

She added that "Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) and Deputy RDCs should stay at their work stations and carry out their functions and responsibilities normally".

The revision of the appointment resulted from some inconsistencies in the previous full list of reshuffles.
