Wildlife authority reveals cause of death

Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has spoken out for the first time on what might caused the death of the 63-year-old French tourist, Jean Piere.

Mr. Piere died on 15th April after tracking gorillas with his colleagues in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda's western district of Kanungu District.
The country's wildlife authority has claimed that the French tourist died on excitement after seeing Mountain gorillas for the first time.
UWA authorities have urged tour operators to brief tourists to ensure that such incidents are minimized in national parks across the country

The 63-year-old developed a 'strange illness' and died in transit to the hospital, according to his colleagues.
Piere's death increased the number foreigners in the country to 8 in a period of only two months
