Ugandas top opposition party Forum-Democratic Change (FDC) has made major changes in their Parliament leadership.
FDC's President Patrick Amuriat Oboi has sacked Winnie Kiiza as the Leader of Opposition in Parliament, replacing her with Betty Aol Ocan.
Abdul Katuntu, who has been actively working as the Chairperson of accountability Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE), has been replaced by Mubarak Munyagwa. He will be deputised by another vocal FDC MP Moses Kasibante.
Nandala Mafabi makes a come back to the Public Accounts Committee, the same position he held from 2006-2011.
Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda, who was seemingly on the line, has been maintained as the opposition Chief Whip
But there is a problem
FDC president made the appointments and made slight changes in some titles.
Instead of "Leader of Opposition in Parliament", he changed to "Minority Leader". He made the same changes on "Minority Chief Whip" instead of Opposition Chief Whip.
The appointments will not be accepted unless the FDC leadership writes formally to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.
