Her family has petitioned the Judiciary demanding that she is buried at her ancestral home in Nebbi District, and not at her husband’s in Adjumani.

In their petition to Pius Bigirimana, the Judiciary Permanent Secretary, the family says the deceased Justice in her final days, had expressed her wish to be buried next to her father.

“We are praying for your good office to overturn the alleged decision and to have our mother and sister buried at her home in Nebbi where her father was buried as she wished,” the family wrote.

“The deceased expressed her wish to be buried at Nebbi near her father's grave. To this effect, the deceased while still at Nakasero hospital, invited her biological brother Picho Godfrey to come from Nebbi and expressed the same on the 12. day of June 2023,” they wrote.

“The deceased also invited her biological sister Christine Onyok who was attending to her during her last days in the hospital on the 10th day of June 2023 and expressed her wish to be buried in Nebbi.”

The petition was penned by Justice Amoko’s sister Christine Onyok, Picho Godfrey (Brother), Annette Yossa (Biological Daughter), Amony Jackie (Biological Daughter), Emmanuel Komakech (Biological Son) and the Ragem elders.

According to the family, Justice’s Arach’s biological mother is still alive and is waiting to receive and bury her deceased daughter next to her father's grave.

The Lady Justice was married to Ambassador Idule Amoko, who served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Uganda Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

However, according to her family, they have never been introduced to the Ambassador's family in Adjumani or shown any land or property in Adjumani that could enable them to pay their respect to their mother as and when required.

“This decision by the late was not in any way in disrespect to her husband Ambassador Amoko - it is just the way of the Jonam - and in particular Kaal Ragem. If the late Justice wanted to be buried at Adjumani , she would have made it clear , one way or the other - to both family [ including husband] and elders.”

Mulengera News understands that the Lady Justice did not leave a written will, because as royal she is not supposed to.

President Yoweri Museveni last week ordered for a State Funeral for the Lady Justice and according to the burial program released by the Judiciary, she is supposed to be laid to rest on Friday June 23 at Arra village, Omi Parish Paracha sub county in Adjumani district.

The Judiciary were yet to comment on the fight of the two families.
