Kamya passed away in December last year, but since then, his family has been entangled in a major dispute over his estate.

At the heart of the conflict are the late Kamya’s widow, Dr. Margaret Muganwa, and the children that the tycoon left behind.

Dr Muganwa is a sister to former Deputy Prime Minister Henry Muganwa Kajura.

Although at the time of his passing, it was reported by the widow that Kamya left behind only five children, it has now been established that the correct number is 17.

It is also understood that Dr Muganwa is contesting the paternity of 12 of the 17 children and has since demanded DNA tests to be carried out.

The ongoing family feud over the properties, however, recently took a turn after the widow, Dr Muganwa was granted a certificate of no objection, in effect giving her total control over the Kamya estate.

A source tells this reporter that tension has since spiked as the family prepares for the final rites at Kamya's ancestral home, where the issue of the property allocation is expected to take center stage.

The 17 children, who had previously supported the widow, are now resolute in their pursuit of a fair and equitable distribution of their father’s estate,” the source said.

The children however, according to the source, have vowed to fight on and secure their due inheritance.

Some of the children include; Martin Muwonge, Dorothy Namatovu, Eugene Kasozi, Anne Caroline Nansamba, Michael Semakula, Agnes Nasozi, Immaculate Nabukeera, Philomena Nabukenya, Bart Mulinde, Alfred Nsamba, Petrin Nalubega, Ferdinand Mpuga, Cyril Eva Kuteesa, and Helen Mirembe
