Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi has ordered for the arrest of four University of Nairobi students who stormed Kenyatta National Hospital and clobbered three doctors who were on duty.
The four were part of a group of six who failed to appear in court on Monday morning to take plea in a case which they are accused of assaulting doctors Ali Mahad Mohamud, Ismail Hassan and Namisi Belinda Adda.
Scuffle ensued a night they rushed their colleague whom they had assaulted while on a drinking spree at a joint in Nairobi, and demanded that the doctors immediately take their instructions to attend to their colleague. The doctors’ refusal to be ordered saw them beaten.
They are also accused of stealing a phone worth Sh110,000 and damaging a pair of spectacles of one of the doctors valued at Sh40,000, reported on Monday.
Milimani Law Courts Principal Magistrate Peter Ooko has said that the six - William Nyongesa, George Owuor, Samwel Ogwang, Brian Otieno, Michael Otieno and Ronny Ridaya – must appear to take plea. The matter is set for hearing on July 23.
