Police in Ugandas capital, Kampala, have summoned singer, also MP Kyadondo East Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.

Bobi Wine led a small group of activists to protest against the controversial taxes on social media and mobile money.

The controversial taxes came into effect on July 1st where UGX200 is supposed to be paid to access social media and 1% on mobile money.

The small group of protesters marched in the CBD before police foiled the demonstration with live bullets and teargas.

Reports indicate that authorities want Bobi Wine to answer charges of theft of police handcuffs, assault, and illegal assembly.

Over the weekend, th legislator released an important address in form of video urging Ugandans to collectively come together and fight for themselves.

He also explained that the peaceful demonstrations in the CBD were legal.
