Africa's youngest leader arrives in Uganda for a 2-day state visit

Ethiopias Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has arrived in Uganda for a two-day state visit.

The 41-year-old head of state will be the Chief Guest at Saturday's national Heroes Day celebrations in Kakumiro District.

PM Ahmed, who is on his first state visit in the East African country, will be honoured with the Most Excellent Order of the Pearl of Africa – The Grand Master medal.

He will become the second African head of state to receive such an award after Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo.

The Ethiopian leader was received by Uganda's President Kaguta Museveni at State House in Entebbe.

The two heads of state are expected to hold bilateral talks and address a joint press conference.

The annual national event seeks to recognise persons who sacrificed their lives in the struggle to achieve democracy, peace and independence.
