Six people died in a Friday night fire that broke out in Silanga slums in Kibra.

According to Citizen Digital, Kilimani OCPD who confirmed the incident, the fire that broke out at around 1am burnt down 43 houses, leaving several people homeless.
He added that the fire was suspected to have been caused by a stove that exploded in one of the houses and that investigations had been started to establish the cause of the fire.
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko is also reported to have visited the affected families and promised to help them rebuild.
