Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has revealed that 4 people were arrested in connection to the death of a pride of eleven lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park on 11th April, 2018.

8 cubs and 3 lionesses were suspiciously poisoned by the locals in another human–wildlife conflict near Hamukungu fishing village.
UWA Executive Director Sam Mwandha said four suspects were identified and made statements at Katwe Police Station to help in the ongoing investigations.
The authority is in the process of recruiting about 500 game rangers in the wake of the unfortunate incident which will see the country losing about UGX600m annually.

Wildlife Conservation
President Museveni met the Duke of Cambridge Prince William at the sidelines of f the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in the United Kingdom and agreed "do more to conserve wildlife".
Averagely, Uganda is a habitat to about 400 lions.
