In today's fast-paced world, the ancient practices of traditional healing are experiencing a renaissance, particularly through the work of Dr. Mugwenu, a renowned traditional herbalist and spiritual healer.
Dr. Mugwenu believes that ancestors are not just remnants of the past but active participants in our lives today.

I personally am who I am today because other people were willing to help me and hold my hand along the way that’s why I’m super excited to mentor other girls with the Imara Women’s Centre,” she added.

This year, the festival is running under the theme; “Interrogating The Diversity of Spaces for Women in Politics, Economics, Arts, and Business.”

Nakaweesi revealed that a thought-provoking panel discussion will be a focal point of the festival, providing a platform for profound conversations on these crucial topics.

Singer Lydia Jazmine, who has faced her own challenges in her charitable organization, expressed her motivation for participating in the Imara Girls Festival.

“I have always nurtured the aspiration of empowering girls and women through my organization. Recognizing that the festival aligns with this very goal, I felt compelled to join forces with them,” she said.

Other artists expected to take part in the festival include Karole Kasita, Sandra Sub, and Martha Mukisa.
