Born and raised in Rwanda, Ndisanze's journey has been marked by a deep commitment to improving the quality of life for individuals with autism. The Autism Aid App, the first of its kind in Rwanda and East Africa, is a testament to his dedication. This cutting-edge application aims to address the unique challenges faced by children with autism by providing essential support, resources, and education.

One of the app’s standout features is its helpline service, which offers families direct access to professional advice and guidance. This feature is invaluable for parents and caregivers seeking expert support on managing autism-related issues. Additionally, the app includes a Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), a tool designed to facilitate non-verbal communication and enhance interaction for children with autism.

The app also serves an educational purpose, featuring a platform that raises awareness about autism within the broader community. By promoting understanding and acceptance, the app helps to integrate children with autism more effectively into society.

The development of the Autism Aid App began in 2014 when Autism Ambassadors of Rwanda won the Digital Changemakers Competition. This pivotal moment provided the necessary funding and support from Reach for Change, allowing Ndisanze to bring his vision to fruition. His goal is not limited to Rwanda; he envisions expanding the app’s reach to all 193 UN member countries, making it a global resource for autism support.

In a celebratory launch event, five children—three girls and two boys—were honored as the Global Icons of the Autism Aid App, symbolizing the app’s potential impact on real lives. Elie Ndisanze’s innovative approach is not only changing lives but also setting a new standard for autism support through technology.
