So, how can you have delicious salads in the convenience of your home?

Firstly, you have to know that you deserve to eat great salads. Although you might be eating them for your health, it is not a sentence to eat tasteless colourful things.

You can order them at a slightly higher price from the restaurant. Or you can follow these tips to make your own salads enjoyable, improve your kitchen skills and save some money.

Part of improving your salad experience is to eat various recipes otherwise your palette may grow tired of the monotony. It also means buying fresh produce from what is available at a particular time. Sticking to one salad means you either eat frozen fruits or vegetables which have less flavour or you get poor quality produce.

Soft-leaf herbs have a great flavour that some vegetables lack. Herbs like mint, cilantro, basil, chives, garlic chives, oregano, and thyme can make any salad fancier 10 times over

Throwing your veggies and fruits together is not going to work for your taste buds when it comes to veggies like kale or leaf cabbage. Mixing fruit and veggies does not guarantee that the flavours will soak and come in union for a holy treat. You have to massage the stubborn ones.

Before mixing the ingredients, add vinegar or squeeze a lemon and a bit of salt to the kale and start massaging them between your hands until the leaves start to look wilted.

Take the path less travelled. Give your salad ingredients different textures by roasting, grilling, baking, or drying. You can try crunchy leafy veggies, crisps, roasted nuts, and dried fruit, and mix them with soft textures of caramelised onions, boiled eggs, and avocado.

Sinking your fork into a bowl of salads just to come out with a leafy vegetable and none of the other ingredients is a common experience. Having the vegetable smear the dressing and seasoning all over your face or splash some on your clothes is even worse.

Aim for a perfect bite of all the ingredients at once. Cut them into fine equal bits and mix well.

Season your salad with salt, chili or pepper, and any other seasonings to enhance its flavour. Add your homemade sauce or supermarket dressing to boost the base seasonings.
