The two started writing songs together but Azawi took a break to complete her studies, as she was in her final year at university.

That same year, 2018, Kuseim left Big Talent to start his own studio.

It’s Kuseim who would produce Azawi’s first hit songs, including Quinamino.

It’s also important to note that Azawi backed Kenzo during his 2020 concert to mark 10 years in the music industry and she was paid Shs1 million. That’s the money she used to shift from her mother’s house and start paying her own rent.

Kenzo connected her to Kuseim who was his producer at Big Talent Entertainment.

With Kuseim, they started writing songs until he quit Big Talent to start his studio.

It’s Kuseim who produced the beat Quinamino. Initially, they wanted to sell it and Azawi suggested Swangz Avenue because she wanted Winnie Nwagi to sing it.

But when she met Benon Mugumbya and Julius Kyazee at Swangz, they gave her an option of signing her and also encouraged her to sing instead of just writing.

She accepted the offer and the rest is history.
