Among others, the 37-year-old wishes to be cremated and her ashes kept in her house. She also does not want to be mourned by her fans and family, but to be celebrated for her life’s achievements.
“I want my body to remain in my bedroom until the time for burial,” Heard told reporters yesterday, Thursday.
“I would also want to be cremated and my ashes to remain in my house with my people. I do not want to be dumped out there and left alone.”
Even though cremation is not a common burial practice in Uganda, Heard said her family should make-do to ensure her wishes are honored.
Heard was speaking at the sidelines of the burial of her friend Pheri ‘Kim’ Kimbugwe who passed away on Wednesday and was laid to rest yesterday at her ancestral home in Seguku.
Kim, who succumbed to cerebral cancer had also made a will, detailing how she wished her funeral to be conducted.
She, among others, asked mourners not to dramatize her funeral with printed t-shirts, calendars, or crying for her.
Heard said she was inspired by her departed friend to also prepare for her death.
"After the (Covid-19) pandemic, I realized that death can come for anyone at any time," she said.
Heard was born in March 1986 to the late John Musana, a Rwandan national, and Mrs. Olivia Bitature, a Mutooro.
