The lavish ceremony infused with Christian pomp and a conservative touch of local tradition was held on Saturday, June 1, at the Pastor’s home in Kawuku.

It was attended by select members of the Rubaga Miracle Center, city business people, senior pastors from other churches, friends and family.

Gialis is a Latvian national. She met Kayanja Jr at University in the United States.

The couple got engaged in November last year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pastor Robert Kayanja said he was grateful to God for giving him a son that would carry on his ministry and family legacy.

We are so grateful to God that he has blessed us with a wonderful son to continue this legacy,” he said.

My father, Yokaana Walakira was a reverend, while my grandfather Yeremia Gyagenda was also a great preacher who died with Apollo Kivebulaya as they were preaching the gospel.”

Narrating how they met, Gailis revealed that she and Kayanja Jr were working together on a class project.

Kayanja was the school photographer, and as they were about to submit their work, she noticed that she was prominent in most of his photographs.

That is when I realized that you had found me, like the bible says that he who finds a good wife finds the favor of the Lord. I want to thank you for finding me; it is the greatest honor I will ever encounter in my entire life,” she said.

Gailis also broke down in tears as she thanked Pastor Kayanja and the family for welcoming and supporting her.

Elated Christians

Some of the followers of Pastor Kayanja at the event were ecstatic about Kayanja Jr, whom described as their “first son.”

In the Miracle Center Movement, he is our Muhoozi. He is our first son,” said Pastor Eron Mutebi of Entebbe Miracle Center.

We are so happy that he has chosen ministry; he could have decided to stay in the United State, but he is here serving God,” he added.

Kayanja Jr is one of the pastors at his father’s Rubaga Miracle Center church.
