Ugandan movie translator and social media personality, VJ Junior, whose real name is Marysmarts Matovu, has revealed that he has been making a fortune from betting against Arsenal's performance each football season.

Known for his staunch Manchester United fanhood, VJ Junior says he has made it a routine to bet on Shs. 4,000,000 at the beginning of every season, that Arsenal – or as he fondly calls them, “Bukachere” – will fail to win any trophies.

On social media this morning, VJ Junior posted a picture of himself receiving stacks of cash, with the caption,

"At every start of every season, I bet Shs. 4,000,000 that Bukachere would not win any trophies, so today was collection day."

His humorous approach to Arsenal’s often disappointing seasons has made him a well-known figure on social media, with his hilarious banter resonating with football fans, particularly those who support his beloved Manchester United.

However, his mockery of Arsenal has led to some friction with parts of his fan base, many of whom support the Gunners.

Arsenal’s Trophyless 2024-25 Season Sealed

For VJ Junior, the latest win comes after a dismal 2024-2025 season for Arsenal, who were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after losing to PSG last night.

This exit sealed their trophyless season, much to the delight of Junior, who has made a consistent profit from betting against the London club's ability to secure silverware.

The 2024-25 season has been one of frustration for Arsenal fans, with the team failing to clinch any major trophies, despite a strong start to the season.
