Afcon Qualifiers: Uganda thrashes Congo Brazzaville to top Group K

Two goals in both halves sent the national football team to the top of Group K with four points, ahead of South Africa’s clash with South Sudan tomorrow, Tuesday in Juba.

21-year-old defender Aziz Kayondo’s 21st minute screamer put the Cranes in the driving seat, thrilling the stadium under the lights.

While Congo’s Les Diables Rouges looked lively for the most part of the second half, Jude Semugabi sealed the three points for the Cranes in the 85th minute.

Uganda drew to South Africa's Bafana Bafana last week, conceding a late equalizer.

The Cranes will be looking return to the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2019.
