Senior journalist Risdel Kasasira dies in car accident

Ugandan veteran journalist Risidel Kasasira has passed away.

The scribe who worked among others with Daily Monitor, was killed in a car crash on Friday afternoon.

The vehicle he was travelling in with his family, reportedly veered off the road into a water trench, killing him instantly.

The accident took place at around 1pm along the Lyantonde - Kashagama road according to Police. 

Kasasira was traveling with his wife and two children in their vehicle, a Toyota Fielder number UBK 851Y T.

Police spokesperson in the Greater Masaka District, Twaha Kasirye says the vehicle plunged into a water trench after losing control.

The car was being driven by Risdel’s wife, 36-year-old Charlotte Nshimire.

She and the two children were rushed to Lyantonde Hospital for treatment, while  the body was taken to Lyantonde Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
