Nicole's mother is worried because she has learnt that one of the suspect's father is a senior army officer.
"Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, Prime Minister [Robinah] Nabbanja, members of parliament, I ask for help... I want assistance to get treatment for my daughter and also to ensure that justice is served because those who beat her are telling us that they are connected and their father is an army officer... they should be arrested so that they learn that [Nicole] is younger than them. The man should also be arrested... he might be dangerous because he was the one filming," she said in a video seen by this reporter.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed Tuesday evening that Nicole was invited to attend the birthday celebrations of Kafta Queen, who is the prime suspect -- and things went south while at the house.
Queen had learnt that Nicole was sleeping with her [Queen's] boyfriend so she laid a trap.
Queen, the boyfriend and some other friends ganged up on her for minutes of violence that included slapping, hitting her with sticks, pouring water on her, and dragging her on the floor by her hair.
Nicole, 14, spent Monday night at Kawempe Police Station to prevent her from fleeing.
"Kawempe Police station has a shelter for victims of torture, kidnap and trafficking. This is where she slept after exhibiting signs of escaping from her mother; it should be noted that the girl also blames herself for what happened to her," Owoyesigyire said.
Police had earlier said that she had refused to assist them with information that would help in arresting the suspects. That she was receiving threats.
Queen was arrested Tuesday evening.
Some videos shared on social media indicate that Queen and Nicole had been friends for a while and they also hang out together.
