On Thursday, December 27, 2024, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura, accompanied by his family, visited President Yoweri Museveni at his residence in Rwakitura.
President Museveni extended a warm welcome to Gen Kayihura's family, with special recognition for his daughter, Tesi Uwibambe, who had recently wedded in Kisoro. Although unable to attend the wedding himself, President Museveni deputised Minister Persis Namuganza to represent him.

A prominent figure in the UPDF, Gen Kayihura’s event in Kisoro was graced by senior military officers, including the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Gen Kainerugaba previously expressed his admiration for Gen Kayihura, acknowledging him as one of the influential officers who motivated him to pursue a military career.
"Gen. Kayihura was one of those special cadres in the early 1990s who inspired us to serve our nation. Others were late Generals Mayombo and Kazini," remarked Gen Kainerugaba in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Gen Kayihura conveyed his profound appreciation for the President's hospitality, describing the experience as "priceless" and "unforgettable."

In a statement, he said, "We appreciate His Excellency, Mzee, for the warm reception, welcome, and honour to our daughter, Tesi Uwibambe, and our family when we visited him at his home in Rwakitura, on the morning of Thursday, 27th December 2024."
