Mwijukye was received by hundreds of supporters as he returned for the first time to his consistency since May this year.

The legislator waved to the ecstatic locals through the sunroof of his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado as they escorted him to Bwoga Primary School playground where he addressed a homecoming rally.

Mwijukye has been undergoing treatment in Kenya where he was referred to with severe head injuries.

He was initially admitted at Nakasero Hospital after being assaulted by assailants at Rwanyamabare Catholic Church in Buhweju on May 13th, over land wrangles.

The legislator had gone to listen to concerns from Christians of Rwanyamabare Catholic Church in Buhweju District, regarding the alleged grabbing of church land.

He was attacked by machete-wielding people who hacked him along with seven other churchgoers.

He was rushed to Devine Mercy Hospital in Mbarara City, before being moved to Nakasero.
