Club Guvnor, formerly known as Ange Noir, is set to resume its Saturday night operations after a brief hiatus.

In May 2024, the club had announced that it would no longer host events on Saturday nights due to a significant drop in business.

However, Sheilah Gashumba, in a recent interview with Kasuku on Kasuku Live (YouTube), revealed that the club is bringing back the popular Saturday night events, and she will be the host.

The club plans to make a grand return over the Easter weekend. While Gashumba confirmed the return, she did not provide any information on whether the club is still under the ownership of Charlie Lubega.

In December 2024, Charlie Lubega had publicly announced his intention to sell the club. “If there are any young entrepreneurs out there interested in running a competitive nightlife business, Guvnor is up for sale,” Lubega had stated.

Previously, in May 2024, Club Guvnor, located at 1st Street Industrial Area on Jinja Road, had shared with its patrons that Saturday night operations would cease starting June 2024, citing a significant decline in business.

The club assured patrons that while the Saturday nights would no longer be a regular feature, the venue would remain available for hire on Saturdays for private events, including parties, concerts, product launches, and other presentations.

Despite the setbacks faced by the nightlife sector, Club Guvnor was among the few clubs that had remained operational, adapting to the challenges posed by a tough business environment.
