Sandra Teta, the wife of singer Weasel Manizo, has responded to her husband’s recent emotional outburst in which he pleaded to be taken back home from the US.
According to her, Weasel’s homesickness is rooted in the strong relationship they have built over time.
In an interview, Teta said she learnt of the leaked audio through social media.
“I am always in touch with him despite the time differences, but for that particular outburst, I only woke up to it on social media,” Teta revealed.
When asked what makes Weasel miss home so much, she downplayed any extraordinary effort, instead attributing it to mutual understanding and the bond they have nurtured over the years.
“I cannot say there is anything special I have done to make him miss us desperately. I think it is a matter of being understanding to your partner and finding a way of bonding with him,” she explained.
She also noted the challenges of being with a musician who constantly interacts with fans and admirers, stressing that trust is key in their relationship.
Weasel's Emotional Plea to Return Home
Weasel, who travelled to the United States to take care of his ailing brother, Jose Chameleone, recently expressed frustration and desperation in leaked videos and audios.
In the clips, recorded while he appeared intoxicated, Weasel was pleading to return to Uganda, stating that he missed his wife and children.
“Please take me home. I am worried; that they might even take my wife away from me while I am here. I left my house back home. Let me go home and hustle. I am tired of this place. I want to go home and see my kids,” he lamented.
His trip to the US was facilitated by businesswoman Juliet Zawedde.
The Strength of Their Relationship
Teta noted that she has learnt how to handle the complexities of being married to a musician, recognising that the nature of Weasel’s career means he is surrounded by adoring fans, including women who express admiration in different ways.
“If you do not understand the nature of his profession, you will end up quarrelling about every video being posted,” she pointed out.
According to her, they have reached a point where they fully trust each other and are focused on building a future together.
