George Kagoda, better known as Producer Bushingtone, opened up about his 2018 split with Ugandan songstress Lydia Jazmine, shedding light on their professional relationship and the fallout that followed.

The two had worked together for nearly four years, during which Jazmine shot fast to the top of the music scene, but their relationship eventually turned sour, leading to their parting of ways.

At the time of their split, rumours swirled around the nature of their relationship, with many speculating that personal disagreements, possibly tied to a romantic involvement, played a role in their break-up.

However, Bushingtone is clear that while the split was difficult, he does not hold any ill will towards Jazmine, despite some lingering unresolved issues.

The Unreleased Album Controversy

One of the most contentious aspects of their split was the release of an album they had worked on together.

Jazmine publicly accused Bushingtone of withholding the album, which she claimed she had worked hard on.

However, Bushingtone has now spoken out, explaining that he still owns the album and revealing the reasons behind his decision to keep it under wraps.

According to Bushingtone, Jazmine was initially not enthusiastic about the album when it was first created.

"The album she says I took, she did not like that album. She did not believe in it," he said.

Bushingtone went on to explain that at the time, Jazmine was not confident in the project, believing the songs would not generate any money income.

"She told me then that the songs I was making her sing could not make money," he added.

Looking Back and Regret

Bushingtone said that, in hindsight, Jazmine now recognises the potential of the album.

He mentioned that the sound they had created is now popular in the industry, with artists like Ayra Starr adopting a similar style.

"Now she sees people like Ayra Starr and says, ‘I have a song like that,’ but she did not believe in the album to begin with,” he said

Despite their past differences, Bushingtone insists that he does not hold any grudges against Jazmine.

“I gave her most of what she has today. I did not take anything that I gave her; I cannot take away her fame, which she is still eating from," he said

According to Bushingtone, Jazmine simply chose a different path, but he remains hopeful for her continued success.
