Nampiima was laid to rest at her ancestral home in Maya, amid emotions by family and friends.

She succumbed to a brain tumour, which spiked her blood pressure and caused her to suffer a stroke on multiple occasions.
Nampiima passed away at Mengo Hospital in Kampala on Tuesday, where she had been undergoing treatment for over a month.
She was aged 65.
Namubiru, in her remarks at the funeral, said her mother had suffered a lot.
“She was a strong and very enduring woman. She was jolly and loved everyone,” she said.
“But I feel strong inside because we managed to give her all the necessary treatment that we could.”
Nampiima left behind two children, Namubiru and her brother Patrick.
Patrick in his remarks, thanked the people who stood with the family through the trying moment, including Summer’s friend who was at her bedside all through the treatment.
