The King's visit reciprocated an earlier visit by the MTN Uganda CEO and leadership team to the Tooro Kingdom's Karuziika palace in Fort Portal. Both parties expressed their commitment to a long-term partnership guided by MTN's belief in enabling a "modern connected life" for all.

MTN Uganda has already demonstrated its support for the Tooro Kingdom through various initiatives. In 2019, the MTN Foundation renovated and equipped the maternity ward at Kijuura Health Center 3. They have also been a significant contributor to sports programs, promoting health, unity, and youth empowerment. These sports programs have specifically addressed HIV prevention by encouraging young people to get tested and learn about preventative measures.
