The Speaker's decision was reached after a section of MPs demanded to know the charges preferred against Kayihura.

Kadaga made the order saying the detained former IGP was subject of ongoing investigations.

He has been in detention since last week at the military barracks in Mbuya to answer on some issues not yet known to the public.

The demand to know why the former IGP is being detained was made by MPs from Kisoro District where he comes from.

A Woman MP from Kisoro district told Parliament that there is a lot of tension from his constituents who are loyal to Kayihura.

Last week, police in Kisoro blocked a group of local leaders who had planned to protest against the former IGP.
